Les Enfants du Burkina Faso (The children of Burkina Faso)
As an environmentally conscious artist I used soy paint and coconut shells and reused pieces of broken jewelry to construct this tribute to the children of Burkina Faso who have inspired me as an artist and humanitarian. In the summer of 2011 I went to the village of Tiebele in Burkina Faso, West Africa to learn about art and painting. The women and children are severely economically disadvantaged; however, the children are so happy. They are the future and that is why all proceeds from this piece go directly back to the village.
