I will be facilitating “The ART of MN Nice” at the Facilitating Racial Equity Collaborative (FREC) and the Overcoming Racism Conference on November 16 & 17 in Minneapolis.
Conference theme: Minnesota Not So Nice – Why We Say So
Sarah Drake has a Master’s of Science degree in Social Responsibility and is a doctoral candidate at the U of MN. She is an advocate for others whom are marginalized and uses art to create spaces for their voices to be heard and a common ground for dialogues to occur. Art can be both a colonizing and decolonizing tool and MN nice can blur the line of distinction when people mean well. In this session, learn how to 1) identify racism in art, 2) create social change through art, and 3) bring people together to create healing and community.
